DID YOU KNOW? with Producer Charlie 🎶🤯

The Beatles • “Let It Be” • Mother Mary

In the classic Beatles tune “Let It Be,” Paul McCartney sings:

Lyric
“When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, ‘let it be.’”

For years, like Producer Charlie, many of us assumed he meant the Virgin Mary and spiritual comfort.
But Paul later shared it was about his own mother, Mary McCartney, who passed away when he was just 14.

He wrote “Let It Be” in late 1968, during a tense, conflicted season inside The Beatles.
And the spark for the song came from a real moment: Paul had a dream where his mom comforted him and simply advised,
“let it be.”
