About Us

Founded in 1974 to preserve the historic Pioneer Sod House, the Wheat Ridge Historical Society is dedicated to maintaining and sharing the area’s vibrant heritage.
Located on the original James H. Baugh homestead at 4610 Robb Street, the Society manages a collection of restored historical buildings that give visitors a glimpse into 19th-century life on the Colorado frontier. The Historical Park includes the Baugh House, the White Family Home, a turn-of-the-century post office, log cabin, soddy, water tower, tool shed, and more.

Weekly Friday Tours

Every Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the Historical Park is open for guided and self-guided tours. Friendly volunteers share stories and answer
questions about each structure, giving historical context and colorful background on the settlers who once lived there.

Admission is just $2 for kids and $5 for adults (cash or check only), and donations are always welcome. If you’re planning to bring a group
of 10 or more, please call ahead at 303‑421‑9111 to ensure staff availability.
