The Colorado Chord Company, a chorus of The Denver MountainAires Chapter of Barbershop Harmony Society is a men’s a cappella group in the Metro Denver area, singing in the Barbershop style.

What is the Colorado Chord Company?

The Colorado Chord Company is a men’s a cappella group in the Metro Denver area, singing complex 4-part harmony arrangements. The 4 parts are Lead (melody), and the harmony parts are Tenor, Baritone and Bass. This is also known as ‘The Barbershop Harmony Style’. It creates a rich harmonic sound that is not possible with other styles. We have three themed show packages: Songs of the 60s & 70s, Christmas, and Patriotic. We also have a Disney package for our Music Medics program (visiting Children’s Hospital and other hospitals) and we sing many standards arranged in the barbershop style.

For those who are interested, we encourage Quartet formation in addition to singing in the Chorus.

In 2022 we were chosen to be the official Chorus at the 80th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor, an honor for which we are very proud. We also participated at the 75th Anniversary of D-Day in France.

Our directors, John Coffin and Jerry Hooper, have more than 115 years of combined experience. One of the best elements of our type of singing is that everyone is singing throughout the song, harmonizing to the melody. There is no waiting for your part so it is more fun for everyone. We welcome beginners and we will help you determine the best voice part for you.

You do not need to know how to read music to participate. We provide sheet music and professionally created mp3 ‘learning tracks’ that are part-specific (your part in one channel, the other three parts in the opposite channel). Turn your time spent driving into a fun ‘sing along’!

We welcome men of ALL ages.

We value singing, friendship, and community service. We welcome all men who can sing, or would like to see if they can sing a cappella. How do you get started? All you have to do is stop by our rehearsal and check out the fun and harmony! We rehearse at Waterstone Community Church 5890 S Alkire St, Littleton, CO 80127 from 7:15 PM to 9:30 every Tuesday, and once a month those who wish to participate gather for a beer and more singing afterward.

It’s all about having fun singing!
